Checking Fluid Level
- Position vehicle on a level surface and set parking brake. Run engine at idle. Move selector lever through all positions, ending in "N".
- With engine at normal operating temperature, remove dipstick and wipe with a clean cloth, and check oil level. Oil level must be between "FULL" and "ADD" mark of dipstick.
CAUTION:
If severe darkening of the fluid and a strong odor is noted, fluid and filter should be changed and bands adjusted.
