Turbocharger - Diesel: Description

Turbocharger is mounted to exhaust manifold on right side of engine. Turbocharger components include turbine and compressor impellers, impeller shaft, bearings and impeller housings. Engine oil pressure provides constant lubrication to impeller bearings.

As a safety valve, the system includes a pressure actuated wastegate, located at front of compressor housing, to prevent excessive intake boost pressure.
