Axle Housing: Inspection
- Inspect companion flange and dust cover for wear or damage. Check oil seal for damage. Measure axle shaft O.D. in bearing areas. Inspect axle housing for signs of bearing movement.
- Inspect bearings for roughness or damage. Measure bearing I.D. and O.D. Inspect axle shafts for wear or damage. Replace components not within specification. See AXLE HOUSING SPECIFICATIONS table.
