Sensor Resistance Test

  1. Remove thermosensor (sending unit) from engine. See THERMOSENSOR LOCATION  . Place sending unit in 158°F (70°C) water. Check sensor resistance using ohmmeter.
  2. Thermosensor resistance should be 90-117 ohms. If thermosensor resistance in okay, go to GAUGE RESISTANCE TEST  . Replace thermosensor if resistance is not as specified.
