Test No. 2

  1. Check light switch on steering column. Turn headlights on. Operate high and low beam. Turn headlights off. Operate passing switch. If headlights operate as commanded, go to next step. If headlights does not operate as commanded, go to step 3).
  2. Check harness connectors and circuit between DLC terminal No. 1 (Green/Red wire) and instrument panel ECU. Repair as necessary. If connectors and circuit is okay, replace instrument panel ECU.
  3. Check steering column light switch. See STEERING COLUMN LIGHT SWITCH TEST  under COMPONENT TESTS. Replace as necessary. If switch is okay, go to next step.
  4. Disconnect instrument panel ECU harness connector. Check voltage between ground and instrument panel ECU harness-side connector terminal No. 9 (Blue wire). If battery voltage is present, go to step 6). If battery voltage is present, check connectors and circuit between fusible link No. 2 and instrument panel ECU. Repair as necessary.
  5. Check continuity between ground and instrument panel ECU harness-side connector terminal No. 41 (Blue/Orange wire). If continuity is present, go to next step. If continuity is not present, check circuit between ignition switch and instrument panel ECU. Repair as necessary.
  6. Check continuity between ground and instrument panel ECU harness-side connector terminals No. 21 (Black wire) and No. 39 (Black wire). If continuity is present, replace instrument panel ECU. If continuity is not present, check harness connectors and circuit between ground and instrument panel ECU. Repair as necessary.
