Test No. 5
- Check ETACS-ECU buzzer operation. If buzzer operates, go to next step. If buzzer does not operate, check ignition switch. See IGNITION SWITCH TEST under COMPONENT TESTS.
- Using scan tool, select service data. Refer to scan tool manufacturer's instructions. After selecting service data, select Item No. 28 (Ignition Switch ACC), Item No. 26 (Ignition Switch IG2) and Item No. 27 (Ignition Switch IG1). If operation is normal and specified displays appear, go to next step. If operation is not normal and specified displays do not appear, check harness connectors and circuit between ETACS-ECU and ignition switch. Repair as necessary.
- Ensure instrument panel ECU harness connector is connected. Turn ignition on. Connect voltmeter negative lead to ground. Using voltmeter positive lead, backprobe instrument panel ECU harness connector terminal No. 41 (Blue/Orange wire). If battery voltage is present, go to next step. If battery voltage is not present, check circuit between instrument panel ECU and power supply. Repair as necessary.
- Using simplified diagnostic mode, check if self-diagnostic Code 29, 34, 41 or 51 is present. If code(s) are present or can be activated, perform self-diagnostics. See SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM . If code(s) are not present, replace instrument panel ECU.
