Test No. 6

  1. Perform simplified diagnostic mode. See SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM  . Check if specification code is displayed correctly when ignition is off. If specification code is displayed correctly, go to next step. If specification code is not displayed correctly, check circuit between ETACS-ECU and ignition switch. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . Repair as necessary.
  2. Turn ignition on. Check if scan tool changes into self-diagnostic code display mode. If mode changes, go to next step. If mode does not change, check power supply to instrument panel ECU. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  .
  3. Check if self-diagnostic Code 29, 34, 41 or 51 is present. If code(s) are present, diagnose using appropriate diagnostic test. See DIAGNOSTIC TESTS  . If code(s) are not present, replace instrument panel ECU.
