Component Testing: CLOCKSPRING
If clockspring fails any check, replace with a NEW clockspring.
- Check connectors and protective tube for damage and deformities.
- Visually check case for damage or deformities.
- Continuity should be present between:
- Connector No. 1, terminal No. 1 and connector No. 4, terminal No. 2
- Connector No. 1, terminal No. 2 and connector No. 4, terminal No. 1
- Connector No. 1, terminal No. 3 and connector No. 3. SeeFig 1.
- Join connector No. 2 and connector No. 5 of clockspring to connector No. 4 and connector No. 3, respectively, of SRS harness. See Fig 1 and Fig 2. Using a DVOM, check for continuity between terminals No. 1 and 22, and then terminals No. 2 and 21 of SRS check harness connector No. 5. SeeFig 2.
NOTE:
When joining SRS check harness connector No. 4, align its White paint with the hollow portion of No. 2 connector of clockspring.
