Retrieving Codes: Notes

NOTE: When ignition switch is first turned on, self-diagnostic system will be in regular (engine performance-type) DTC output mode.

Connect scan tool to Data Link Connector (DLC). Terminal No. 1 on DLC will be grounded with scan tool connected. To switch into simplified fault diagnostic mode, turn ignition on. Operate passing switch twice or more within 5 seconds. Trouble codes are displayed by flashing of high beam indicator light.
