Test No. 8: Cruise Control Cannot Be Set

  1. Check if scan tool can communicate with cruise control system. If communication is not possible, go to TEST NO. 2: SCAN TOOL COMMUNICATION WITH CRUISE CONTROL ECU NOT POSSIBLE  . If communication is possible, go to next step.
  2. Check if input switch inspection is possible with scan tool. If communication is not possible, go to TEST NO. 3: INPUT SWITCH INSPECTION WITH SCAN TOOL NOT POSSIBLE; DIAGNOSTIC INSPECTION IS POSSIBLE  . If input switch inspection is possible, go to next step.
  3. Check if DTC 21, 22 or 27 is present. If code(s) are present, replace cruise control switch. If code(s) are not present, check if DTC 23 or 26 are present. If codes are not present, replace cruise control ECU. If code(s) are not present, go to next step.
  4. If DTC 23 (brakelight/stoplight switch input circuit) is present, go to TEST NO. 13: BRAKELIGHT/STOPLIGHT SWITCH INPUT CIRCUIT CHECK  . If DTC 26 (P/N switch circuit) is present, go to TEST NO. 14 P/N SWITCH INPUT CIRCUIT CHECK SWITCH INPUT CIRCUIT CHECK)  .
