With Scan Tool

NOTE: Actuator test should only be carried out for 3 seconds. Because engine speed will increase once test is stopped, accelerator pedal should be released quickly after it has been pressed. Maintain engine speeds of less than 3000 RPM during test.
  1. Turn ignition off. Connect MUT II (MB991502) or equivalent scan tool to Data Link Connector (DLC). DLC is located under driver side of dash. See Figure. On scan tool select data list item No. 05 TCL OPERATION CHECK. Ensure transmission is in Park or Neutral position. Start engine.
  2. Following scan tool instructions perform TCS operation check. During testing TCS ECU will output a "request torque: 0" signal to engine PCM for 3 seconds while actuator test is being carried out, and TCS OFF indicator will illuminate storing DTC in memory. After rest is completed, erase DTC from memory. See CLEARING DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES  under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM.
