Test No. 3

  1. Check the power window main switch. Remove the power window main switch. Check continuity while power window main switch is moved to UP, DOWN and OFF positions. See LEFT FRONT POWER WINDOW SWITCH RESISTANCE TEST  table. Is the power window main switch operating normally? If YES, go to next step. If NO, replace the power window main switch. After repair, check power window main switch operation.
    LEFT FRONT POWER WINDOW SWITCH RESISTANCE TEST

    Switch Position Terminals No. Specification
    Up 8 & 13; 9 & 12 Less Than 2 Ohms
    Off 8, 9 & 12 Less Than 2 Ohms
    Down 8 & 12; 9 & 13 Less Than 2 Ohms
  2. Check the left front power window motor. Remove the left front power window motor. See POWER WINDOW MOTOR  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Connect a battery to the motor terminal, and check that the motor runs freely. See LEFT FRONT POWER WINDOW MOTOR TEST  table. Is the left front power window motor normal? If YES, go to next step. If NO, replace the left front power window motor. When the power window main switch is operated, the left front power window should open and close normally.

  3. Check power window main switch connector E-16 and left front power window motor connector E-17 for damage. Are power window main switch connector E-16 and left front power window motor connector E-17 in good condition? If YES, go to next step. If NO, repair or replace the connector(s). When the power window main switch is operated, the left front power window should open and close normally.
  4. Check the wiring harness between power window main switch connector E-16 and left front power window motor connector E-17. Is the wiring harness between power window main switch connector E-16 and left front power window motor connector E-17 in good condition? If YES, no action to be taken. If NO, repair the wiring harness. When the power window main switch is operated, the left front power window should open and close normally.
