Test No. 5

  1. Remove the power window main switch. Check continuity when each switch on the power window main switch is operated to UP or DOWN position. See Fig 1 . Is the power window main switch normal? If YES, go to next step. If NO, replace the power window main switch. When the power window sub-switch is operated, the power windows should open or close normally.

  2. Check the power window lock switch. Is the power window lock switch at the UNLOCK position? If YES, go to next step. If NO, operate the power window lock switch to the UNLOCK position. When the power window sub-switch is operated, the power windows should open or close normally.
  3. Check which door window is not opened or closed. Which door window is not opened or closed? If front passenger window is inoperative, go to next step. If left rear passenger window is inoperative, go to step  17 . If right rear passenger window is inoperative, go to step  30 .
  4. Check right side front power window sub-switch for continuity. Remove right side power window sub-switch. Check continuity when the right side front power window sub-switch is moved to UP or DOWN position. See Figure . See RIGHT FRONT POWER WINDOW SUB-SWITCH RESISTANCE TEST  table. Is the right front power window sub-switch normal? If YES, go to next step. If NO, replace the right front power window sub-switch. When the right front power window sub-switch is operated, the right front power window should open or close normally.

  5. Check the right front power window motor. Remove the right front power regulator assembly. See POWER WINDOW MOTOR  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Connect a battery to the indicated motor terminals and check that the motor runs freely. See RIGHT FRONT POWER WINDOW MOTOR TEST  table. Is the right front power window motor normal? If YES, go to next step. If NO, replace the right front power regulator/motor assembly. When the front power window sub-switch is operated, the right front power window should open or close normally.

  6. Check at front power window sub-switch connector E-05 in order to check the power window relay circuit of the power supply to the right front power window sub- switch. Disconnect right front power window sub-switch connector E-05, and measure voltage at the harness side between terminal No. 7 and ground. See Figure . Measured value should be approximately 12 volts. Does the measured voltage correspond with this range? If YES, go to step  9 . If NO, go to next step.
  7. Check power window relay connector C-92 and right front power window sub-switch connector E-05 for damage. Are power window relay connector C-92 and right front power window sub-switch connector E-05 in good condition? See Figure and Figure . If YES, go to next step. If NO, repair or replace the connector. When the right front power window sub-switch is operated, the right front power window should open or close normally.
  8. Check the wiring harness between power window relay connector C-92 and right front power window sub-switch connector E-05. See Figure andFigure . See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . Also check junction block connector C-87 and intermediate connector C-72. See Figure and Figure . If junction block connector C-87 or intermediate connectors C-72 is damaged, repair or replace the connector. Is the wiring harness between power window relay connector C-92 and right front power window sub-switch connector E-05 in good condition? If YES, no action is necessary. If NO, repair the wiring harness. When the right front power window sub-switch is operated, the right front power window should open or close normally.
  9. Check at right front power window sub-switch connector E-05 in order to check the ground circuit to the right front power window sub-switch. Disconnect right front power window sub-switch connector E-05, and measure at the harness side. Measure the resistance value between terminal No. 8 and ground. See Figure . The measured value should be 2 ohms or less. Does the measured resistance value correspond with this range? If YES, go to step  12 . If NO, go to next step.
  10. Check power window main switch connector E-16 and right front power window sub-switch connector E-05 for damage. Are power window main switch connector E-16 and right front power window sub-switch connector E-05 in good condition? If YES, go to next step. If NO, repair or replace the connector. When the right front power window sub-switch is operated, the right front power window should open or close normally.
  11. Check the wiring harness between power window main switch connector E-16 and right front power window sub-switch connector E-05. Also check intermediate connectors C-68 and C-72. If intermediate connector C-68 or C-72 is damaged, repair or replace the connector. Is the wiring harness between power window main switch connector E-16 and right front power sub-switch connector E-05 in good condition? If YES, replace the power window main switch. If NO, repair the wiring harness. When the right front power window sub-switch is operated, the right front power window should open or close normally.
  12. Check at right front power window sub-switch connector E-05 in order to check the ground circuit to the right front power window sub-switch. Disconnect right front power window sub-switch connector E-05, and measure at the harness side. Measure the resistance value between terminal No. 5 and ground. See Figure . The measured value should be 2 ohms or less. Does the measured resistance value correspond with this range? If YES, go to step  15 . If NO, go to next step.
  13. Check power window main switch connector E-16 and right front power window sub-switch connector E-05 for damage. Are power window main switch connector E-16 and right front power window sub-switch connector E-05 in good condition? If YES, go to next step. If NO, repair or replace the connector. When the right front power window sub-switch is operated, the right front power window should open or close normally.
  14. Check the wiring harness between power window main switch connector E-16 and right front power window sub-switch connector E-05. Also check intermediate connectors C-68 and C-72. If intermediate connectors C-68 or C-72 is damaged, repair or replace the connector(s). Is the wiring harness between power window main switch connector E-16 and right front power sub-switch connector E-05 in good condition? If YES, replace the power window main switch. If NO, repair the wiring harness. When the right front power window sub-switch is operated, the right front power window should open or close normally.
  15. Check right front power window sub-switch connector E-05 and right front power window motor connector E-04 for damage. Are right front power window sub-switch connector E-05 and right front power window motor connector E-04 in good condition? If YES, go to next step. If NO, repair or replace the connector. When the right front power window sub-switch is operated, the right front power window should open or close normally.
  16. Check the wiring harness between right front power window sub-switch connector E-05 and right front power window motor connector E-04. Is the wiring harness between right front power window main switch connector E-05 and right front power window motor connector E-04 in good condition? If YES, no action needs to be taken. If NO, repair the wiring harness. When the right front power window sub-switch is operated, the right front power window should open or close normally.
  17. Check the left rear power window sub-switch for continuity. Remove the left rear power window sub-switch. Check continuity when the left rear power window sub-switch is operated to UP or DOWN position. See Figure . See LEFT REAR POWER WINDOW SUB-SWITCH RESISTANCE TEST  table. Is the left rear power window sub-switch normal? If YES, go to next step. If NO, replace the left rear power window sub-switch. When the rear power window sub-switch (LH) is operated, the rear power window (LH) should open or close normally.

  18. Check the right front power window motor. Remove the left rear power regulator assembly. See POWER WINDOW MOTOR  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Connect a battery to the indicated motor terminals and check that the motor runs freely. See LEFT REAR POWER WINDOW MOTOR TEST  table. Is the left rear power window motor normal? If YES, go to next step. If NO, replace the left rear power regulator/motor assembly. When the left rear power window sub-switch is operated, the left rear power window should open or close normally.

  19. Check at left rear window sub-switch connector E-12 in order to check the power window relay circuit of the power supply to the left rear power window sub- switch. Disconnect left rear power window sub-switch connector E-12, and measure voltage at the harness side between terminal No. 7 and ground. See Figure . Measured value should be approximately 12 volts. Does the measured voltage correspond with this range? If YES, go to step  22 . If NO, go to next step.
  20. Check power window relay connector C-92 and left rear power window sub-switch connector E-12 for damage. Are power window relay connector C-92 and left rear power window sub-switch connector E-12 in good condition? See Figure and Figure . If YES, go to next step. If NO, repair or replace the connector. When the left rear power window sub-switch is operated, the left rear power window should open or close normally.
  21. Check the wiring harness between power window relay connector C-92 and left rear power window sub-switch connector E-12. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . Also check junction block connector C-87 and intermediate connectors C-67 or D-19. See FigureFigure and Fig 5 . If junction block connector C-87 or intermediate connectors C-67 or D-19 is damaged, repair or replace the connector. Is the wiring harness between power window relay connector C-92 and left rear power window sub-switch connector E-12 in good condition? If YES, no action is necessary. If NO, repair the wiring harness. When the left rear power window sub-switch is operated, the left rear power window should open or close normally.
  22. Check at left rear power window sub-switch connector E-12 in order to check the ground circuit to the left rear power window sub-switch. Disconnect left rear power window sub-switch connector E-12, and measure at the harness side. Measure the resistance value between terminal No. 8 and ground. See Figure . The measured value should be 2 ohms or less. Does the measured resistance value correspond with this range? If YES, go to step  25 . If NO, go to next step.
  23. Check power window main switch connector E-16 and left rear power window sub-switch connector E-12 for damage. Are power window main switch connector E-16 and left rear power window sub-switch connector E-12 in good condition? If YES, go to next step. If NO, repair or replace the connector. When the left rear power window sub-switch is operated, the left rear power window should open or close normally.
  24. Check the wiring harness between power window main switch connector E-16 and left rear power window sub-switch connector E-12. Also check intermediate connectors C-67, C-68 or D-19. If intermediate connector(s) C-67, C-68 or D-19 is damaged, repair or replace the connector. Is the wiring harness between power window main switch connector E-16 and left rear power sub-switch connector E-12 in good condition? If YES, replace the power window main switch. If NO, repair the wiring harness. When the left rear power window sub-switch is operated, the left rear power window should open or close normally.
  25. Check at left rear power window sub-switch connector E-12 in order to check the ground circuit to the left rear power window sub-switch. Disconnect left rear power window sub-switch connector E-12, and measure at the harness side. Measure the resistance value between terminal 5 and ground. See Figure . The measured value should be 2 ohm or less. Does the measured resistance value correspond with this range? If YES, go to step  28 . If NO, go to next step.
  26. Check power window main switch connector E-16 and left rear power window sub-switch connector E-12 for damage. Are power window main switch connector E-16 and left rear power window sub-switch connector E-12 in good condition? If YES, go to next step. If NO, repair or replace the connector. When the left rear power window sub-switch is operated, the left rear power window should open or close normally.
  27. Check the wiring harness between power window main switch connector E-16 and left rear power window sub-switch connector E-12. Also check intermediate connectors D-19, C-67 and C-68. See Figure and Fig 5 . If intermediate connector(s) D-19, C-67 or C-68 is damaged, repair or replace the connector(s). Is the wiring harness between power window main switch connector E-16 and left rear power sub-switch connector E-12 in good condition? If YES, replace the power window main switch. If NO, repair the wiring harness. When the left rear power window sub-switch is operated, the left rear power window should open or close normally.
  28. Check left rear power window sub-switch connector E-12 and left rear power window motor connector E-13 for damage. Are left rear power window sub-switch connector E-12 and left rear power window motor connector E-13 in good condition? If YES, go to next step. If NO, repair or replace the connector. When the left rear power window sub-switch is operated, the left rear power window should open or close normally.
  29. Check the wiring harness between left rear power window sub-switch connector E-12 and left rear power window motor connector E-13. Is the wiring harness between left rear power window main switch connector E-12 and left rear power window motor connector E-13 in good condition? If YES, no action needs to be taken. If NO, repair the wiring harness. When the left rear power window sub-switch is operated, the left rear power window should open or close normally.
  30. Check right rear power window sub-switch for continuity. Remove right rear power window sub-switch. Check continuity when the right rear power window sub-switch is moved to UP or DOWN position. See Figure . See RIGHT REAR POWER WINDOW SUB-SWITCH RESISTANCE TEST  table. Is the right rear power window sub-switch normal? If YES, go to next step. If NO, replace the right rear power window sub-switch. When the right rear power window sub-switch is operated, the right rear power window should open or close normally.

  31. Check the right rear power window motor. Remove the right rear power regulator assembly. See POWER WINDOW MOTOR  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Connect a battery to the indicated motor terminals and check that the motor runs freely. See RIGHT REAR POWER WINDOW MOTOR TEST  table. Is the right rear power window motor normal? If YES, go to next step. If NO, replace the right rear power regulator/motor assembly. When the right rear power window sub-switch is operated, the right rear power window should open or close normally.

  32. Check at right rear power window sub-switch connector E-09 in order to check the power window relay circuit of the power supply to the right rear power window sub-switch. Disconnect right rear power window sub-switch connector E-09, and measure voltage at the harness side between terminal No. 7 and ground. See Figure . Measured value should be approximately 12 volts. Does the measured voltage correspond with this range? If YES, go to step  35 . If NO, go to next step.
  33. Check power window relay connector C-92 and right rear power window sub-switch connector E-09 for damage. Are power window relay connector C-92 and right rear power window sub-switch connector E-09 in good condition? See Figure and Figure . If YES, go to next step. If NO, repair or replace the connector. When the right rear power window sub-switch is operated, the right rear power window should open or close normally.
  34. Check the wiring harness between power window relay connector C-92 and right rear power window sub-switch connector E-09. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . Also check junction block connector C-87 and intermediate connector and D-07. See Figure . If junction block connector C-87 or intermediate connectors C-70 or D-07 is damaged, repair or replace the connector. Is the wiring harness between power window relay connector C-92 and right rear power window sub-switch connector E-09 in good condition? If YES, no action is necessary. If NO, repair the wiring harness. When the right rear power window sub-switch is operated, the right rear power window should open or close normally.
  35. Check at right rear power window sub-switch connector E-09 in order to check the ground circuit to the right rear power window sub-switch. Disconnect right rear power window sub-switch connector E-09. Take measurement at the harness side. Measure the resistance value between terminal No. 8 and ground. See Figure . The measured value should be 2 ohms or less. Does the measured resistance value correspond with this range? If YES, go to step  38 . If NO, go to next step.
  36. Check power window main switch connector E-16 and right rear power window sub-switch connector E-09 for damage. Are power window main switch connector E-16 and right rear power window sub-switch connector E-09 in good condition? If YES, go to next step. If NO, repair or replace the connector. When the right rear power window sub-switch is operated, the right rear power window should open or close normally.
  37. Check the wiring harness between power window main switch connector E-16 and right front power window sub-switch connector E-09. Also check intermediate connectors C-68, C-70 or D-07. See Figure , Fig 4 and Fig 5 . If intermediate connector C-68, C-70 or D-07 is damaged, repair or replace the connector. Is the wiring harness between power window main switch connector E-16 and right rear power sub-switch connector E-05 in good condition? If YES, replace the power window main switch. If NO, repair the wiring harness. When the right rear power window sub-switch is operated, the right rear power window should open or close normally.
  38. Check at right rear power window sub-switch connector E-09 in order to check the ground circuit to the right rear power window sub-switch. Disconnect right rear power window sub-switch connector E-09, and measure at the harness side. Measure the resistance value between terminal No. 5 and ground. See Figure . The measured value should be 2 ohm or less. Does the measured resistance value correspond with this range? If YES, go to step  41 . If NO, go to next step.
  39. Check power window main switch connector E-16 and right rear power window sub-switch connector E-09 for damage. Are power window main switch connector E-16 and right rear power window sub-switch connector E-09 in good condition? If YES, go to next step. If NO, repair or replace the connector. When the right rear power window sub-switch is operated, the right rear power window should open or close normally.
  40. Check the wiring harness between power window main switch connector E-16 and right rear power window sub-switch connector E-09. Also check intermediate connectors C-68, C-70 and D-07. See Fig 4 and Fig 5 . If intermediate connector(s) C-68, C-70 or D-07 is damaged, repair or replace the connector(s). Is the wiring harness between power window main switch connector E-16 and right rear power sub-switch connector E-09 in good condition? If YES, replace the power window main switch. If NO, repair the wiring harness. When the right rear power window sub-switch is operated, the right rear power window should open or close normally.
  41. Check right rear power window sub-switch connector E-09 and right rear power window motor connector E-08 for damage. Are right rear power window sub-switch connector E-05 and right rear power window motor connector E-04 in good condition? If YES, go to next step. If NO, repair or replace the connector. When the right rear power window sub-switch is operated, the right rear power window should open or close normally.
  42. Check the wiring harness between right rear power window sub-switch connector E-09 and right rear power window motor connector E-08. Is the wiring harness between right rear power window main switch connector E-09 and right rear power window motor connector E-08 in good condition? If YES, no action needs to be taken. If NO, repair the wiring harness. When the right rear power window sub-switch is operated, the right rear power window should open or close normally.
