Generator Relay Continuity Check

1. Remove the generator relay from the relay box inside the engine compartment.
2. Set the circuit tester to the ohm range and check that there is continuity when the positive terminal of the tester is connected to terminal 4 of the generator relay and the negative terminal is connected to terminal 2. See Fig 1 .
3. Check that there is no continuity when the positive terminal is connected to terminal 2 and the negative terminal is connected to terminal 4.
4. If the continuity checks in steps  2 and  3 show a defect, replace the generator relay.
