Inspection Procedure E-1: Keyless Entry System Does Not Operate
NOTE:
To perform this test, MUT-II Scan Tool (MB991502), SWS Monitor Kit (MB991862) and Test Harness Set (MB991223) must be used.
CAUTION:
To prevent damage to Scan Tool (MB991502), always turn the ignition switch to the LOCK (OFF) position before connecting or disconnecting scan tool.
- Check the central door locking system. Does the central door locking system work normally?
- If YES, go to next step.
- If NO, refer to INSPECTION PROCEDURE C-1: CENTRAL DOOR LOCKING SYSTEM DOES NOT WORK AT ALL .
- Using the pulse check, check the input signal. See PULSE CHECK . Check input signals from the transmitter. Connect scan tool to the Data Link Connector (DLC). When the transmitter LOCK or UNLOCK switch is turned ON, check that scan tool sounds. When the transmitter LOCK or UNLOCK switch is turned ON, does scan tool sound?
- If YES, replace the ETACS-ECU. After replacement, all the doors can be locked or unlocked by means of the transmitter.
- If NO, refer to INSPECTION PROCEDURE N-11: THE ETACS-ECU DOES NOT RECEIVE ANY SIGNAL FROM THE LOCK, UNLOCK, PANIC OR TRUNK SWITCH .
