SERVICE INFORMATION
LEATHER SEAT INSTALLATION - 2007 & later Outlander, 2008 Lancer After installing leather seats on the Outlander and Lancer, the seat weight sensors must be recalibrated, and the ETACS must be changed to accommodate the changes to the seats. To change the coding in the ETACS, use the following instructions:
- In the MUT-III go to System Select → ETACS → Coding → Option Coding
- Clear the 'ECU Present' pop up window by clicking the check mark.
- Scroll down to Seat Material and change from 'Fabric' to Leather'.
- Click the check mark to effect the change.
Then refer to the service manual and check the accuracy of the Occupant Classification Sensor:
- Seat Calibration: Service Manual Section 52B (SRS) → On-Vehicle Service → Accuracy Check of Occupant Sensor.
For more information on Seat Calibration, refer to Tech Talk Vol. 135 (Feb./Mar, 2007), Tips from the Tool Man.
