  5. While immersing the temperature sensing part of water temperature sensor into hot water, measure the resistance between connector terminals.

    Standard value:

    14 - 17 kΩ [at -20°C (-4°F)]

    5.1 - 6.5 kΩ [at 0°C (32°F)]

    2.1 - 2.7 kΩ [at 20°C (68°F)]

    0.9 - 1.3 kΩ [at 40°C (104°F)

    0.48 - 0.68 kΩ [at 60°C (140°F)]

    0.26 - 0.36 kΩ [at 80°C (176°F)]

  6. If not within the standard value, replace the water temperature sensor.
  7. Remove the sealant adhering to the water temperature sensor and to the inverter.
  8. Apply sealant to the water temperature sensor thread.

Specified sealant: LOCTITE 262 or equivalent

NOTE: After the sealant application, promptly mount the water temperature sensor.

CAUTION: Until a sufficient period of time (one hour or more) elapses after the mounting of part, do not contact the oil or water to the application area. Also, do not activate the electric motor unit.
  9. As with the removal, use the water temperature sensor wrench (special tool: MB992042) to tighten the water temperature sensor to the specified torque.

    Tightening torque: 30 ± 9 N.m (22 ± 7 ft-lb)

  10. Connect the water temperature sensor connector.
  11. Install the electric motor unit inspection lid.
  12. Install the luggage compartment floor carpet.
