Use the following procedure when the TCM is replaced and not communicating or unavailable.

  1. Gather the CVT Part and Serial numbers. The CVT part number and serial number can be found on the QR label affixed to the top of the Electric Shift actuator. The QR label can be seen from the top of the engine bay between the battery and wire harness. The first or top 5 characters are the CVT part number. The second or bottom 7 characters are the CVT serial number.
    NOTE: For easier viewing, using a cell phone, take a picture of the label and then zoom in. for easier view ingeasier.

  2. Navigate to MDL > Service > Systems > Vehicle Information (Super Screen) > CVT Transmission code.
  3. Enter the appropriate characters gathered previously from the QR label.
  4. Select "Search" and the file will automatically download.
  5. Transfer the saved file to an empty USB thumb drive.

  6. Connect the USB thumb drive to the MUT3-SE tablet.
  7. Connect and load the vehicle.
  8. Select "TRANSMISSION".
  9. Select Special Function.
  10. Select IP characteristics data writing.
  11. Select WRITE IP CHARA - REPLACEMENT AT/CVT OR TCM (Using import data).
  12. Select the icon with a "CD and arrow pointing to a computer" to import the saved file from the USB drive.
  13. Return to the Special Function menu after importing the save file (if this is not done an error can occur).

  14. Select IP characteristics data writing.
  15. Select WRITE IP CHARA-REPLACEMENT AT/CVT or TCM (using import data).
  16. Select the imported calibration file and select the check mark.
  17. A window displaying "Reset IP characteristics data" should now display:

  18. Press/hold the brake pedal while pressing the accelerator pedal 1/2 and select the check mark.
  19. A window displaying "IG-OFF/ON operation" should display.
  20. Release both brake and accelerator pedals.
  21. Cycle the ignition off and then back on.
  22. Select the check mark.
  23. A window displaying "Write IP characteristics data" should appear.
  24. Select the check mark.

  25. When the window shows "completed", select the check mark. Resetting and writing the IP characteristics is now complete.
