Three Way Catalytic Converter

Two catalytic converters (three way catalytic converter) are installed, a front catalytic converter and a rear catalytic converter. The front catalytic converter is attached to the rear of the cylinder head (exhaust manifold), and the rear catalytic converter is built in the exhaust front pipe.

Based on appropriate air-fuel ratio feedback from linear A/F sensor and heated oxygen sensor (rear), CO and HC are oxidized and NOx is reduced.
