In Vehicle
- Place vehicle on level dry floor. Inflate tires to specified pressure. Ensure power steering fluid is at normal operating temperature.
- With steering wheel in straight ahead (centered) position, turn steering wheel one complete turn. Using spring gauge attached to outer spoke of wheel, measure turning force.
- Turning force should be 5.5-6.6 lbs. (2.3-3.0 kg) on PB48S gearbox and 9 lbs. (4.1 kg) or less on PB56S gearbox. If turning force is not to specifications, remove steering gear. Recheck turning force.
