Mode 2: Mixture Ratio Feedback Control Monitor "B"

The Green inspection light functions the same as in Mode 1. During closed loop operation, Red inspection light turns on and off simultaneously with Green inspection light when mixture ratio is being controlled correctly within the specified range. If a rich condition is detected, the Red light will remain illuminated. If a lean condition is detected, the Red light will remain off. During open loop operation, the Red inspection light is simultaneous with the Green inspection light, with the exception of California models that have a "Check Engine" light that is illuminated on the instrument panel.
