Ignition Coil Resistance
Check primary and secondary (where available) ignition coil resistance values should be as indicated in the IGNITION COIL RESISTANCE TABLE . Replace ignition coil if not within specification.
NOTE:
Whenever ignition coil is suspected of causing ignition problems, carefully inspect coil for signs of secondary circuit arcing to primary or ground circuits. This would be indicated by the presence of burn spots.
When checking the primary on the Maxima or 300ZX, disconnect the ignition coil harness connector, then check resistance as shown in the figure. See Fig 1 or Fig 2 . The resistance value should be as indicated in the IGNITION COIL RESISTANCE TABLE .
