Throttle Position Sensor (4-Cylinder Engines): Stanza
- Disconnect throttle position sensor. Connect ohmmeter between terminals "E" and "F". See Figure . Resistance should vary from approximately 1000 ohms with throttle closed to approximately 9000 ohms with throttle fully open. If resistance does not vary as specified, replace throttle position sensor.
- To adjust throttle position sensor, reconnect TPS, start engine and warm to normal operating temperature. Connect voltmeter between ECU terminal No. 20 and ground. With ignition on, adjust TPS output voltage to 0.4-0.5 volt by rotating TPS body. Tighten mounting bolts. Disconnect TPS connector for few seconds, then reconnect it. Turn ignition off.
