ISSUE & TIP

On 1995 Nissan Altimas, the post-catalyst O2 sensor harness connector is located inside the vehicle under the driver's seat. This makes it difficult to access the connector when replacing the sensor.

Normally replacing the post catalyst O2 sensor involves removing the driver's seat, center console, then pulling the carpet back just to access the O2 sensor connector.

A real time saver is to clip the carpet between the shifter and the parking brake (about four inches) instead of completely pulling the carpet back. This makes the job much easier and does not cosmetically affect the carpet because the small four inch cut will be covered by the center console assembly after reassembly.
