Door Switch Check

  1. Check Door Switch Input Signal

    Using DVOM, measure voltage (backprobe) between ground and specified terminals at Smart Entrance Control Unit (SECU) harness connector. See DOOR SWITCH CIRCUIT TEST  table. If voltage is as specified, door switch is okay. If voltage is not as specified, go to next step.

    Driver's Door (15) Open Zero Volts
    " Closed Battery Voltage
    All Doors (16) Open Zero Volts
    " Closed Battery Voltage

  2. Check Door Switch

    Disconnect door switch in question. Using DVOM, check for continuity between specified door switch terminals. See DOOR SWITCH TEST  table. Replace door switch if continuity is not as specified. If continuity is as specified, check door switch ground circuit or door switch ground condition. Check for open or short in wiring harness between door switch and SECU. Repair as necessary.
