All Transmitters Inoperative

  1. Check SECU Power Supply Circuit

Turn ignition off. Disconnect Smart Entrance Control Unit (SECU) harness connector. Using DVOM, measure voltage between ground and terminal No. 1 (White/Blue wire) (with anti-theft warning system) or terminal No. 6 (without anti-theft warning system) at SECU harness connector. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . If battery voltage is present, go to next step. If battery voltage is not present, check fusible link "D" (40-amp), located in fuse and fusible link box. Check circuit breaker. Check for open or short in wiring harness between fuse and SECU. Repair as necessary.
  2. Check SECU Ground Circuit

Using DVOM, check for continuity between ground and terminal No. 10 (Black wire) (with anti-theft warning system) or terminal No. 1 (without anti-theft warning system) at SECU harness connector. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . If continuity is present, go to next step. If continuity is not present, check ground harness. Repair as necessary.
  3. Check Door Switch Circuit

Reconnect SECU harness connector. Using DVOM, measure voltage (backprobe) between ground and specified terminals at SECU harness connector. See DOOR SWITCH CIRCUIT TEST  table. If voltage is as specified, go to next step. If voltage is not as specified, check door switch. See DOOR SWITCH  under COMPONENT TESTS. Check door switch ground condition. Check for open or short in wiring harness between door switch and SECU. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . Repair as necessary.

Passenger's & Rear Doors (26) Open Zero Volts
All Doors (25 & 26) Closed Battery Voltage
    (1) For terminal identification, see WIRING DIAGRAMS  .
  4. Check Lock/Unlock Switch Input Signal

Disconnect SECU harness connector. Using DVOM, measure voltage between ground and specified terminals at SECU harness connector. See LOCK/UNLOCK INPUT SIGNAL TEST  table. If voltage is as specified, go to next step. If voltage is not as specified, check door unlock sensor. See DOOR LOCK ACTUATOR  under COMPONENT TESTS. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . Repair as necessary.
LOCK/UNLOCK SWITCH INPUT SIGNAL TEST (1)

Application & Pin No. Condition Continuity
    With Anti-Theft System
Central Lock Switch (18) Lock Yes
    N & Unlock No
Central Unlock Switch (19) Lock Yes
    N & Unlock No
    Without Anti-Theft System
Central Lock Switch (24) Lock Yes

Central Unlock Switch (15) Lock Yes
    N & Unlock No
    (1) For terminal identification, see WIRING DIAGRAMS  .
  5. Check Door Lock/Unlock Switch

Using DVOM, check for continuity between specified terminals at SECU harness connector. SeeDOOR LOCK/UNLOCK SWITCH TEST  . Check door lock/unlock switch ground circuit. Check for open or short in wiring harness between door lock/unlock switch and SECU. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . Repair as necessary.
    DOOR LOCK/UNLOCK SWITCH TEST (1)

Check Continuity Between Terminals No. Condition Continuity
    10 & 15 Lock Yes
    10 & 11 Unlock Yes
    10 & 15; 10 & 11 Neutral No
    (1) For terminal identification, see WIRING DIAGRAMS  .
  6. Check Ignition Switch ACC Or ON Circuit

Disconnect SECU harness connector. Using DVOM, measure voltage of Blue/Red wire between ground and terminal No. 17 (with anti-theft system) or terminal No. 19 (without anti-theft system) at SECU harness connector. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . DVOM should indicate battery voltage with ignition switch in ACC or ON positions. If voltage is as specified, go to next step. If voltage is not as specified, check fuse No. 10 (10-amp), located in fuse block. Check for open or short in wiring harness between SECU and fuse. Repair as necessary.
  7. Check Key Switch Input Signal

Turn ignition off. Reconnect SECU harness connector. Using DVOM, measure voltage of Blue wire between ground and terminal No. 24 (with anti-theft system) or terminal No. 12 (without anti-theft system) at SECU harness connector. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . DVOM should indicate battery voltage with key inserted in ignition switch, and zero volts with key removed. If voltage is as specified, check operation of mechanical parts in door lock system. If voltage is not as specified, check fuse No. 24 (10-amp), located in fuse block. Check key switch. See KEY SWITCH  under COMPONENT TESTS. Check for open or short in wiring harness between key switch and fuse, or between key switch and SECU. Repair as necessary.
