Models Without Multi-Remote Control System
- Check Left Front Door Switch Input Signal
Turn ignition off. Measure voltage between ground and terminal No. 7 (Red wire) at Time Control Unit (TCU) harness connector (backprobe connector). See WIRING DIAGRAMS
. Approximately 5 volts should be present with left front door closed, and zero volts with left front door open. If voltage is as specified, go to next step. If voltage is not as specified, go to step 3
.
- Check Right Front Door Switch Input Signal
Measure voltage between ground and terminal No. 9 (Red/White wire) at TCU harness connector (backprobe connector). See WIRING DIAGRAMS
. Approximately 5 volts should be present with door closed, and zero volts with door open. If voltage is as specified, door switches are okay. If voltage is not as specified, go to next step.
- Check Left Front Door Switch
Turn ignition off. Disconnect door switch harness connectors. Check for continuity between switch terminals No. 2 (Red wire) and 3 (Black wire). Continuity should exist when door is open and not exist when door is closed. If continuity is not as specified, replace door switch. If continuity is as specified, check door switch ground circuit and connection. Check for open or short in Red wire between door switch and TCU. Repair as necessary.
- Check Front Door Switch
Turn ignition off. Disconnect door switch harness connectors. Check for continuity between ground and right front switch terminal No. 1 (Red/White wire) or rear switch (+) terminal (Red/White wire). Continuity should exist when door is open and not exist when door is closed. If continuity is not as specified, replace door switch. If continuity is as specified, check door switch ground connection. Check for open or short in Red/White wire between door switch and TCU. Repair as necessary.
