  1. Check Door Lock/Unlock Switch Input Signal

Turn ignition off. Disconnect 24-pin Time Control Unit (TCU) harness connector M-41. See Figure . Check for continuity between ground and terminal No. 14 (Gray wire) of 24-pin TCU harness connector M-41. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . Continuity should exist when door lock/unlock switch is in LOCK position and not exist when switch is in NEUTRAL/UNLOCK position. If continuity is as specified, go to next step. If continuity is not as specified, go to step  3 .
  2. Check for continuity between ground and terminal No. 15 (Purple/Red wire) of 24-pin TCU harness connector M-41. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . Continuity should exist when door lock/unlock switch is in UNLOCK position and not exist when switch is in NEUTRAL/LOCK. If continuity is as specified, door lock/unlock switches are okay. If continuity is not as specified, go to next step.
  3. Check Door Lock/Unlock Switch

Disconnect door lock/unlock switch harness connectors. Check for continuity between specified switch terminals while operating switch. Verify continuity is as specified. See DOOR LOCK/UNLOCK SWITCH TEST  table. Replace switch if continuity is not as specified. If continuity is as specified, check switch ground circuit (Black wire). Check for open or short in Gray or Purple/Red wires between right door lock or unlock switch and 24-pin SECU harness connector M-41. Repair as necessary.
