Test F: Warning Lamp Does Not Come On When Ignition Switch Is Turned On

  1. Check fuse No. 30 (10-amp) located in fuse block on lower left side of dash in passenger compartment. See Figure and Figure . If fuse is not good, go to next step. If fuse is good, go to step 3.
  2. Replace fuse No. 30 (10-amp) located in fuse block on lower left side of dash in passenger compartment. See Figure and Figure . Turn ignition on. Check fuse No. 30 (10-amp) to see if it blew out when ignition was turned on. If fuse is still good and did not blow out, testing is complete. If fuse did blow out when the ignition was turned on, check for short between the fuse and combination meter. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . Repair as required.
  3. Disconnect ABS actuator/control unit 31 pin harness connector. Turn ignition on. If ABS warning lamp activates, replace ABS actuator/control unit. See ABS ACTUATOR/CONTROL UNIT  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. If ABS warning lamp did not activate when the ignition was turned on, go to next step.
  4. Disconnect ABS actuator/control unit 31 pin harness connector and combination meter connector. To gain access to combination meter connector see GAUGES & INSTRUMENT PANELS .
  5. Check continuity between ABS actuator/control unit 31 pin harness connector terminal 10 (L/B) and ground. See Figure . If continuity exist between terminal 10 and ground, repair harness or connectors. If continuity did not exist between terminal 10 and ground, check combination meter. See GAUGES & INSTRUMENT PANELS .
