Diagnostic Procedure
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect ECM and instrument cluster harness connectors. See Figure
or Figure
. Check continuity of Green/Black wire between instrument cluster harness connector terminal No. 2 and ECM harness connector terminal No. 29. See Figure
and Fig 1
. Also, check circuit for short to ground and short to voltage. If problem is found, repair as necessary. If problem is not found, go to next step.
- Check speedometer operation. If speedometer operates properly, go to next step. If speedometer does not operate properly, check VSS and circuits between VSS and instrument cluster. Repair as necessary.
- No problem is indicated at this time. Problem may be intermittent. See INTERMITTENTS
