Parking Components: Removal

- Drain ATF through drain plug.
- Remove exhaust front tube and center muffler with power tool. Refer to "REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION ".
- Remove rear propeller shaft. Refer to
"REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION
".CAUTION: Do not impact or damage propeller shaft tube.
- Remove control rod. Refer to "CONTROL ROD REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION ".
- Support transmission assembly with a transmission jack.CAUTION: When setting transmission jack, be careful not to allow it to collide against the drain plug.
- Remove engine rear member with power tool. Refer to "REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION ".
- Remove tightening bolts for rear extension assembly and transmission case.
- Tap rear extension assembly with soft hammer.
- Remove rear extension assembly from transmission case. (With needle bearing.)
- Remove bearing race from output shaft.
- Remove output shaft from transmission case by rotating left/right.
- Remove parking gear from output shaft.
- Remove seal rings from output shaft.
- Remove needle bearing from rear extension.
- Remove parking actuator support from rear extension.
- Remove parking pawl (with return spring) and pawl shaft from rear extension.
- Remove return spring from parking pawl.
- Remove rear oil seal from rear extension.CAUTION: Be careful not to scratch rear extension.
