Diagnostic Procedure

- CHECK DTC WITH ECM
With CONSULT-II
- Turn ignition switch "ON". (Do not start engine.)
- Select "SELF-DIAG RESULTS" mode for "ENGINE" with CONSULT- II. Refer to "CONSULT-II FUNCTION (ENGINE) ".
OK or NG
OK: GO TO 2.
NG: Check the DTC detected item, go to "INDEX FOR DTC ".
- If CAN communication line is detected, go to "DTC U1000 CAN COMMUNICATION LINE ".
- CHECK DTC WITH TCM
With CONSULT-II
- Start engine.
- Select "DATA MONITOR" mode for "TRANSMISSION" with CONSULT-II.
- While monitoring "ENGINE SPEED", check for engine speed change corresponding to "ACCELE ANGLE".
OK or NG
OK: GO TO 3.
NG: Check the ignition signal circuit.
- Refer to "IGNITION SIGNAL ".
- CHECK DTC
Perform "DTC Confirmation Procedure". Refer to "DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE ".
OK or NG
OK: INSPECTION END
NG: GO TO 4.
- CHECK TCM
- Check TCM input/output signal. Refer to "TCM INPUT/OUTPUT SIGNAL REFERENCE VALUES ".
- If NG, recheck TCM pin terminals for damage or loose connection with harness connector.
OK or NG
OK: INSPECTION END
NG: Repair or replace damaged parts.
