Removal and Installation: Removal: Preparation

  1. Release fuel pressure. Refer to FUEL PRESSURE RELEASE .
  2. Drain engine coolant. Refer to CHANGING ENGINE COOLANT .
  3. Remove the following parts:
    • Engine cover; Refer to INTAKE MANIFOLD COLLECTOR  .
    • Hood assembly; Refer to HOOD .
    • Front road wheel and tires
    • Engine undercover and splash guards
    • Battery and tray. .
    • Air duct (inlet); Refer to AIR CLEANER AND AIR DUCT  .
    • Air duct and air cleaner case (upper) assembly with mass air flow sensor; Refer to AIR CLEANER AND AIR DUCT  .
    • Drive belts; Refer to DRIVE BELTS  .
    • Radiator assembly, reservoir of radiator, and system hoses. Refer to RADIATOR .
    • Front wiper arms (LH and RH) and cowl top cover. Refer to COWL TOP .
  4. Disconnect engine room harness at the ECM side.
    CAUTION: To keep clean harness connector and avoid damage and foreign materials, cover them completely with plastic bags or something similar.
