Intermittent Codes Using Consult Tester

  1. Connect CONSULT tester to Data Link Connector (DLC), located under left side of instrument panel. See Figure . Turn ignition on. Touch START on CONSULT tester. Touch AIR BAG. Touch SELF-DIAG (PAST). If codes are present, go to next step. If codes are not present, touch BACK until SELECT DIAG MODE is displayed. Touch TROUBLE DIAG RECORD. Previously erased diagnostic codes will be displayed. Go to next step.
  2. Touch PRINT. Compare displayed codes to intermittent fault codes. See INTERMITTENT FAULT MESSAGES  . Touch BACK until SELECT SYSTEM appears. Turn off CONSULT tester. Turn ignition off and disconnect CONSULT tester and both battery cables. After repair is completed, codes must be cleared. See CLEARING CODES  .
