System Operation Check

Turn ignition switch to ACC or ON position. If AIR BAG warning illuminates for about 6 seconds and then goes off, system is functioning properly. If AIR BAG warning light illuminates and does not go off or flashes, Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) is stored in air bag sensor assembly memory. Go to RETRIEVING DTCS under DIAGNOSTICS. If AIR BAG warning light responds in any other way, go to DIAGNOSTIC TESTS .
