Disassembly And Assembly: Disassembly

- Remove spark plug with spark plug wrench (commercial service tool). Refer to SPARK PLUG (PLATINUM-TIPPED TYPE) .
- Remove valve lifter.
- Confirm installation point and keep parts in an organized way to avoid mixing them up.
- Using tool remove valve collet.
- Tool number: KV10116200 (J-26336-B)
- KV10115900 (J-26336-20)
- KV10109230 ( - )
CAUTION: When working, take care not to damage valve lifter holes. - Remove valve spring retainer, valve spring and valve spring seat.
- Push valve stem to combustion chamber side, and remove valve.
- Inspect valve guide clearance before removal. Refer to VALVE GUIDE CLEARANCE .
- Confirm installation point and keep parts in an organized way to avoid mixing then up.
- Using tool remove valve oil seal.
- Tool number: KV10107902 (J-38959)
- If valve seat must be replaced, refer to VALVE SEAT REPLACEMENT .
- If valve guide must be replaced, refer to VALVE GUIDE REPLACEMENT .
- Remove spark plug tube, as necessary.
- Using a suitable tool, pull spark plug tube out of cylinder head.
CAUTION:- Take care not to damage cylinder head.
- Once removed, a spark plug tube will be deformed and cannot be reused. Do not remove it unless absolutely necessary.
