Shift Cable

NOTE: Move gearshift lever through all gear positions. If each detent cannot be felt and gearshift lever pointer does not align with each position indicator, adjust shift cable.
  1. Place gearshift lever in "P" position. Ensure transaxle is fully engaged in Park.
  2. Loosen shift cable lock nut.
  3. Using 2 lbs. (10 N) of force, push control cable in the direction of the arrow shown. See Fig 1 and Fig 2 .
  4. Tighten shift cable lock nut. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS 
  5. Move gearshift lever from "P" to "1" position. Ensure gearshift lever moves smoothly. Ensure starter operates when the selector lever is placed in the "N" or "P" position. Ensure the transaxle is locked properly when the gearshift lever is placed in "P" position.
