Checking Neutral Position On Steering Wheel: Pre-Checking

Make sure that wheel alignment is correct. Refer to SPECIFICATIONS & PROCEDURES in WHEEL ALIGNMENT.
Verify that the steering gear is centered before removing the steering wheel.
