Diagnostic Procedure

  1. CHECK CAN COMMUNICATION LINE 

    Perform the self-diagnosis. Is a malfunction in the CAN communication indicated in the results.

    Yes or No 

    1. Yes: Check CAN communication line. Refer to DTC U1000 CAN COMMUNICATION LINE .
    2. No: GO TO 2.
  2. CHECK DTC WITH ECM 

    With CONSULT-II 

    1. Turn ignition switch "ON". (Do not start engine.)
    2. Select "SELF-DIAG RESULTS" mode for "ENGINE" with CONSULT-II. Refer to CONSULT-II FUNCTION in ENGINE CONTROL SYSTEM - TITAN article in ENGINE PERFORMANCE.

    With GST 

    Follow the procedure "With CONSULT-II".

    OK or NG 

    1. OK: GO TO 3.
    2. NG: Check the DTC detected item. Refer to SELF-DIAG RESULTS MODE in ENGINE CONTROL SYSTEM - TITAN article in ENGINE PERFORMANCE.
  3. CHECK DTC WITH TCM 

    With CONSULT-II 

    1. Turn ignition switch "ON". (Do not start engine.)
    2. Select "ECU INPUT SIGNALS" in "DATA MONITOR" mode for "A/T" with CONSULT-II.
    3. Depress accelerator pedal and read out the value of "ACCLE POS" and "THROTTLE POSI". Check engine speed changes according to throttle position.
    4. Select "SELF-DIAG RESULTS" mode for "ENGINE" with CONSULT-II. Refer to SELF-DIAG RESULTS MODE in ENGINE CONTROL SYSTEM - TITAN article in ENGINE PERFORMANCE.

    With GST 

    Follow the procedure "With CONSULT-II".

    OK or NG 

    1. OK: GO TO 4.
    2. NG: Repair or replace damaged parts.

  4. CHECK DTC 

    Perform DTC Confirmation Procedure.

    OK or NG 

    1. OK: INSPECTION END 
    2. NG: Replace the transmission assembly. Refer to REMOVAL & INSTALLATION - TITAN article.
