Passenger-side AIR Bag Module

- Disable air bag system. See DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM . Remove passenger-side air bag module from vehicle and place module on a clean, dry, work bench with trim cover facing upward. See PASSENGER-SIDE AIR BAG MODULE under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Mount Air Bag Module Bracket (J41246) in vise. Drill a 0.335" (8.5 mm) diameter hole in bracket at position shown in illustration. See Fig 1 .
- Secure air bag module to air bag module bracket with two 8 mm X 25-30 mm bolts. See Fig 2 . Position a fully charged 12-volt battery at least 16 feet (5 m) from deployment area. Connect Air Bag Deployment Tool (J38381) to air bag module using Deployment Adapter (J38381-65). Connect Red deployment tool clip to positive battery terminal and Black deployment tool clip to negative battery terminal.
- Ensure deployment tool power light glows Green. If deployment tool power light glows Red, reverse battery connections and recheck power light. Ensure no one is within 16 feet (5 m) of air bag module. Touch deployment tool button to deploy passenger-side air bag module.
