Side AIR Bag Module

- Disable air bag system. See DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM . Remove appropriate side air bag module from vehicle. See SIDE AIR BAG MODULE under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Securely mount Air Bag Module Bracket (J41246) in a vise. Drill two 0.256" (6.5 mm) holes in air bag module bracket. See Fig 1 . Securely attach side air bag module to bracket. See Fig 2 .
- Connect Air Bag Deployment Tool (J38381) to air bag module using Deployment Adapter (J44230). Position a fully charged 12-volt battery at least 16 feet (5 m) from deployment area. Connect Red deployment tool clip to positive battery terminal and Black deployment tool clip to negative battery terminal.
- Ensure deployment tool power light glows Green. If deployment tool power light glows Red, reverse battery connections and recheck power light. Ensure no one is within 16 feet (5 m) of side air bag module. Touch deployment tool button to deploy side air bag module.
