Using Consult Tester

  1. After repairing system, connect battery cable. Connect CONSULT tester using CONSULT CONVERTER to Data Link Connector (DLC). See Figure . Turn ignition on. Touch START (NISSAN BASED VHCL). Touch AIRBAG. Touch SELF-DIAG (CURRENT). If no malfunction is detected, repair is complete. If malfunction is indicated, repair fault message indicated. See PRESENT FAULT MESSAGES  . Touch ERASE to erase code retained in memory. If trouble code is not erased, AIR BAG warning light will continue to indicate a malfunction.
  2. Touch BACK button. Touch SELF DIAG (PAST). Ensure no fault message is present. Turn ignition off. Turn off CONSULT tester. Disconnect CONSULT tester and CONSULT CONVERTER from DLC. Turn ignition on. Verify no malfunction is indicated by AIR BAG warning light. See AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT  under SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK.
