Using CONSULT Tester

  1. After system is repaired, connect both battery cables. Connect CONSULT tester to Data Link Connector (DLC). See Figure . Turn ignition on. Touch START on CONSULT tester. Select AIR BAG. Select SELF-DIAG (CURRENT). If no fault message is present, repair is complete. Go to next step. If fault message is present, problem has not been repaired or another problem is present. Go to PRESENT FAULT MESSAGES  . Complete required repair.
  2. Touch ERASE on CONSULT tester. Touch BACK until SELECT DIAG MODE appears. Touch SELF-DIAG (PAST). Ensure no fault message is present. Touch BACK until SELECT SYSTEM appears. This returns system to USER mode from DIAGNOSIS mode. Turn off CONSULT tester and disconnect from DLC. Turn ignition off. See SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK  .
