Refrigerant Lines: Compressor: Removal

  1. Remove engine cover. Refer to "ENGINE ROOM COVER".
  2. Use a refrigerant collecting equipment (for HFC-134a) to discharge the refrigerant.
  3. Remove engine under cover, using power tools.
  4. Remove air cleaner assembly, air duct and air inlet pipe. Refer to "AIR CLEANER AND AIR DUCT ".
  5. Remove compressor-alternator belt.

  6. CAUTION: Cap or wrap the open ends of the pipe with a suitable material such as vinyl tape to avoid the entry of air.
  7. Remove mounting nuts from both high-pressure flexible hose and low-pressure flexible hose.
  8. Disconnect compressor connectors (magnet clutch and ECV).
  9. Remove mounting bolt from radiator hose bracket.
  10. Remove mounting bolts from compressor, using power tools.
  11. Move radiator hose to right side of the vehicle.
  12. Remove compressor from the upper side of the vehicle.
