Refrigerant Lines: Compressor: Removal

- Remove engine cover. Refer to "ENGINE ROOM COVER".
- Use a refrigerant collecting equipment (for HFC-134a) to discharge the refrigerant.
- Remove engine under cover, using power tools.
- Remove air cleaner assembly, air duct and air inlet pipe. Refer to "AIR CLEANER AND AIR DUCT ".
- Remove compressor-alternator belt.
Refer to CHECKING DRIVE BELTS .
- Remove mounting nuts from both high-pressure flexible hose and low-pressure flexible hose.
- Disconnect compressor connectors (magnet clutch and ECV).
- Remove mounting bolt from radiator hose bracket.
- Remove mounting bolts from compressor, using power tools.
- Move radiator hose to right side of the vehicle.
- Remove compressor from the upper side of the vehicle.
CAUTION:
Cap or wrap the open ends of the pipe with a suitable material such as vinyl tape to avoid the entry of air.
