Diagnostic Procedure

CHECK CAN COMMUNICATION LINE
perform the self-diagnosis. Is a malfunction in the CAN communication indicated in the results?

YES or NO
1. Yes: Check CAN communication line. Refer to DTC U1000 CAN COMMUNICATION LINE .
2. No: GO TO 2
CHECK SECOND POSITION SWITCH CIRCUIT
With CONSULT-II
1. Turn ignition switch ON. (Do not start engine.)
2. Select ECU INPUT SIGNALS in DATA MONITOR mode for TRANSMISSION with CONSULT-II.

3. Read out ON/OFF switching action of the SECOND POS SW.
  OK or NG
  1. OK: INSPECTION END
  2. NG: GO TO 3.
CHECK SECOND POSITION SWITCH
Check continuity between CVT device (Second position switch) connector M57 terminals 1 (G) and 2 (B).
- Refer to COMPONENT INSPECTION .
OK or NG
1. OK: Check the following item. If NG, repair or replace damaged parts.
2. NG: Repair or replace damaged parts.
