Disassembly and Assembly: Assembly

  1. Install the inner tie-rods.
  2. Install the outer tie-rods to the specified length and tighten the outer tie-rod lock nut to specification.

    Use Genuine High Temperature, High Strength Thread Locking Sealant (Red) or equivalent. Refer to , "RECOMMENDED CHEMICAL PRODUCTS AND SEALANTS ".

  3. Measure rack stroke. Refer to , "STEERING GEAR AND LINKAGE ".

  4. Before installing boot, coat the contact surfaces between boot and tie-rod with grease.

  5. Install the boot clamps and crimp securely.
