Check voltage between ECM terminal 102 (PNP switch signal) and ground under the following conditions.

TERMINALS VOLTAGE REFERENCE

Condition (Gear position)	Voltage (Known-good data)
P or N position	Approx. 0 V
Except above position	BATTERY VOLTAGE (11 - 14 V)
