Removal and Installation

CAUTION:
  • Before replacing the BCM, perform "READ CONFIGURATION" to save or print current vehicle specifications. Refer to Description .
  • When replacing the BCM, a new BCM must be used. The functions controlled by the BCM do not operate properly if a BCM from another vehicle is used.

REMOVAL 

  1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal.
  2. Remove instrument lower panel (LH). Refer to Removal and Installation .
  3. Disconnect the harness connectors from the BCM.
  4. Remove bolts (A) and remove BCM (1).

INSTALLATION 

Installation is in the reverse order of removal.

CAUTION:
  • Perform "ADDITIONAL SERVICE WHEN REPLACING BCM". Refer to Work Procedure .
  • When replacing BCM, if new BCM does not come with keyfobs attached, all existing keyfobs must be re-registered.
  • For initialization and registration of Intelligent Keys, refer to CONSULT Immobilizer mode and follow the on-screen instructions.
