No. Component Function
1. Intelligent Key unit
  • Intelligent Key unit controls power distribution system.
  • Intelligent Key unit judges push-button ignition switch status and vehicle condition.
  • Intelligent Key unit checks push-button ignition switch status internally.
Refer to Intelligent Key Unit for detailed component location.
2. Starter relay
  • The starter relay is controlled by the BCM.
  • The starter relay supplies power to the starter cut relay in the IPDM E/R.
3. IPDM E/R(Intelligent Power Distribution Module Engine Room)
  • IPDM E/R detects push-button ignition switch status, and transmits the push-button ignition switch status signal (CAN) to the BCM.
  • IPDM E/R receives ignition relay-1 (IPDM E/R) control signal and push-button ignition switch ON signal (CAN) from the BCM, and controls the ignition relay-1 (built into IPDM E/R).
Refer to System Description .
4. BCM(Body Control Module)
  • BCM controls power distribution system.
  • BCM judges push-button ignition switch status and vehicle condition.
  • BCM checks push-button ignition switch status internally.
Refer to System Description .
5. Push-button ignition switch Refer to Push-Button Ignition Switch .
6. CVT shift selector (detent switch) The CVT shift selector (detent switch) sends the detent switch signal to the Intelligent Key unit. Refer to Component Location for detailed component location.
7. Transmission range switch The transmission range switch transmits P (park) and N (neutral) signals to the IPDM E/R. Refer to Transmission Range Switch for detailed component location.
8. Ignition relay-2 [in fuse block (J/B)]
  • Ignition relay-2 is controlled by the Intelligent Key unit.
  • Ignition relay-2 supplies push-button ignition switch ON power supply or push-button ignition switch ON signal to each ECU and system when the push-button ignition switch is placed ON.
  • Intelligent Key unit compares the status of the ignition relay-2 control signal and push-button ignition switch status judged by the Intelligent Key unit.
  • Intelligent Key unit monitors the ignition relay-2 operating status by the ignition relay-2 feedback signal.
9. Accessory relay-1 [in fuse block (J/B)]
  • Accessory relay-1 is controlled by the BCM.
  • Accessory relay-1 supplies accessory power supply or push-button ignition switch ON signal to each ECU when the push-button ignition switch is placed ON.
  • BCM compares the status of the accessory relay-1 control signal, and push-button ignition switch status judged by the BCM.
10. Blower motor relay [in fuse block (J/B)]
  • Blower motor relay is controlled by the Intelligent Key unit.
  • Blower motor relay supplies push-button ignition switch ON power supply or push-button ignition switch ON signal to the air conditioning system when the push-button ignition switch is placed ON.
  • Intelligent Key unit compares the status of the blower motor relay control signal and push-button ignition switch status judged by the Intelligent Key unit.
11. Stop lamp switch Stop lamp switch detects that the brake pedal is depressed and transmits the signal to the BCM. Refer to Stop Lamp Switch for detailed component location.
