Work Procedure

NOTE:

After configuration, place the ignition switch from OFF to ON and check that the VDC warning lamp turns OFF after staying illuminated for approximately two seconds.
If an error occurs during configuration, start over from the beginning.

CHECK TYPE ID (1)
1. CONSULT
  1. Select "ECU Identification" mode of "ABS".
  2. Write down "ECU PART NUMBER" displayed on the screen. This is the ABS actuator and electric unit (control unit) "Type ID".
Is "Type ID" displayed?

YES>>

When replacing ABS actuator and electric unit (control unit) : GO TO 3.

YES>>

When re-configuring existing ABS actuator and electric unit (control unit) : GO TO 4.

NO>>

GO TO 2.
CHECK TYPE ID (2)
1. 1. Use FAST (service parts catalog) to search ABS actuator and electric unit (control unit) of the applicable vehicle and find "Type ID".
  2. Write down "Type ID".

- When replacing ABS actuator and electric unit (control unit) : GO TO 3.
- When re-configuring existing ABS actuator and electric unit (control unit) : GO TO 4.
REPLACE ABS ACTUATOR AND ELECTRIC UNIT (CONTROL UNIT)
1. Replace ABS actuator and electric unit (control unit). Refer to Removal and Installation (PR25DD) or Removal and Installation (KR20DDET).
  CAUTION:
  Do not perform the following work items at this time. These items must be performed after configuration is complete:
  - Air bleeding
  - Adjustment of steering angle sensor neutral position
  - Calibration of decel G sensor

GO TO 4.
WRITE CONFIGURATION
1. CONSULT
  1. Select "Manual Configuration".
  2. Select the "Type ID" in "ECU Identification" or FAST (service parts catalog) to write the "Type ID" into the ABS actuator and electric unit (control unit).

GO TO 5.
VERIFY TYPE ID
1. CONSULT Compare the "Type ID" written into the ABS actuator and electric unit (control unit) with the one found "ECU Identification" or FAST (service parts catalog) to confirm they match.
Do Type IDs match?

YES>>

GO TO 6.

NO>>

GO TO 4.
CHECK VDC WARNING LAMP
1. 1. Ignition switch OFF.
  2. Ignition switch ON and check that the VDC warning lamp turns OFF after staying illuminated for approximately two seconds.
    NOTE: Do not start the engine.
Is the inspection result normal?

YES>>

GO TO 7.

NO>>

Select "Self Diagnostic Result" mode of "ABS". Refer to Diagnosis Description .
PERFORM SUPPLEMENTARY WORK
1. CONSULT
  1. Perform air bleeding. Refer to Air Bleeding .
  2. Perform adjustment of steering angle sensor neutral position. Refer to Work Procedure .
  3. Perform calibration of decel G sensor. Refer to Work Procedure .
  4. Select "Self Diagnostic Result" mode of all systems.
  5. Erase self-diagnosis results.
